The first Yunomi Handroll opened in Los Angeles in November 2019. The brainchild of renowned Sushi chef and restaurateur, David Movsisian, Yunomi serves a selection of Japanese and Western-style handrolls and sashimi appetizers, including both traditional selections and innovative combinations with unique textures and flavors. A sleek, industrial bar setting provides the backdrop for these offerings, which are complemented by individual servings of sake and Japanese draft beer. The name, Yunomi, refers to a type of Japanese teacup used for daily tea drinking, and we celebrate this tradition by offering a variety of loose-leaf tea Japanese teas, which we brew and serve in individual Japanese iron teapots, or Tetsubin.
